Gangtok is the capital of  Sikkim, which belongs to the North-East region of India. It is situated on the lower Himalaya at the height of  5500ft from the sea level. The combination of traditional and modern people and its natural beauty attracts people around the world. Besides these, Gangtok gives you an amazing view of Mt. Kanchenjunga at close distance. Gangtok is enriched with buddha temple, historical places, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes, parks, falls, and other places of interest for  which you will fall in love again and again. This town is the largest city of Sikkim and surrounds by many hills which attract many travelers days by day. Because of the capital of Sikkim, this city has many facilities.
Gangtok is the place where you can go around the year. At the season of monsoon, Gangtok is very much attractive for those who like rain. The temperature most of the time 4-degree c in winter while  22-degree c in summer. The capital of Sikkim is connected with entire India via 31A highway which is the connection to Gangtok from Siliguri in West Bengal. You can take buses, taxis, and jeeps which are easily available to go Gangtok. But one thing you should keep in mind that there is no nearby Railway station to Siliguri to Gangtok.  

  • The nearest airport of Gangtok is the Bagdogra airport which is 120km away from Gangtok. People can take a taxi to reach their destination Gangtok from Bagdogra Airport. All the major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai are connected with Bagdogra Airport.
  • The nearest railway station of Gangtok is New Jalpaiguri which is in Siliguri. It receives trains from all major cities in the country.
  • By road, Gangtok is connected to Siliguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong.

Gangtok is a complete package for every traveler. Across the Gangtok, you get everything that you like. There are some jungle areas around  The Chogyal place which is adventurous for everyone. The best attraction of Gangtok is snow-topped Mt. Kanchenjunga. The other mentionable places are Tsongmo Lake, Sikkim Deerpark, Lungchok, Tsuklakhag, Nathula Pass, Ban Jhakri Falls, and Enchay Monastery, etc.

A Pleasant Tour To a Hill Station

Hill Stations are a beautiful place that always attracts people by its natural beauty and charm. In my summer vacation, I planned with my friends to make a trip to Himachal Pradesh. As soon as our vacation started, we completed our reservation. At first, we reached Chandigarh by train and hired a car for the rest of our journey. Our first destination was Shimla which was 115 km away from Chandigarh.
